How to Calculate Uncertainties for an RF Reference Source
Calibrating spectrum analyzers for amplitude accuracy and frequency response, power sensors for calibration factor and high frequency oscilloscopes for bandwidth are common tasks in an RF & Microwave calibration laboratory. The Fluke 96270A RF Reference Source is purpose-designed to simplify these common tasks, with uncertainty specifications stated in terms of dB power, % calibration factor and % peak-to-peak voltage for convenience in these key applications. This web seminar describes how the uncertainty specification calculations are made and how to include relevant UUT contributions to determine the total measurement uncertainty. Reference standards uncertainty substitution is also discussed for users choosing to support their own reference standards or obtain traceability from other sources such as National Laboratories.
