Understanding and Applying Specifications for Electrical Calibrators and Digital Multimeters
This seminar discusses how to interpret specifications in the area of Electrical Calibration. Specifications apply to instruments, either as sourcing instruments (electrical calibrators) or measurement instrument (digital multimeters). Such specifications describe an instruments operational characteristics by the manufacturer. In turn these specs are used to test and evaluate an instruments performance on an ongoing and periodic basis through its calibration/verification procedures. This seminar discusses how to understand both primary and secondary aspects of instrument specifications, how such specifications relate to estimating measurement uncertainty, and other common problems such as how environmental conditions are specified for their influence on instrument performance.
